What is Opioid Use Disorder?
Opioids are a key ingredient found in certain prescription pain medications and heroin. With prolonged use, the body can develop physical and psychological dependence that users can’t “just quit,” and cravings can be uncontrollable during withdrawal.
Signs of opioid withdrawal include nausea, diarrhea, flu-like symptoms, bone or joint aches, rhinorrhea or tearing, yawning and gooseflesh skin, heart palpitations, sweating, increased pupil size, tremors, restlessness, anxiety, and irritability.
Opioid Addiction Recovery
If you or a loved one has decided that you are ready to quit, it should be done under the close supervision of an experienced medical care provider, such as Dr. Yuan, as the withdrawal process can be terrible if not treated properly.
Because the withdrawal symptoms can be so overwhelming, the likelihood of relapse is very high if not done under the close supervision of a medical professional.
We offer Suboxone®, Buprenorphine, and Vivitrol® to help alleviate the symptoms of withdrawal and cravings. We also provide individual and group therapy to clients who are willing to do the work to fully overcome their addiction.
Addiction recovery is not easy, but if you’re ready to stop, we’re here to help.
